Perioperative Risk Evaluation (ACC Cybersession)

Evaluating perioperative risk for the patient with cardiac disease undergoing non-cardiac surgery is a challenging and important topic. The American College of Cardiology and American Heart Association have put much effort into this and anesthesiologists have played an important role. The most recent guidelines are presented on the Practice Parameter page of this website. However, I have recently found a complete audio and slide presentation from the 1999 ACC meeting that can be accessed here. It is a fantastic presentation and although I'm not sure how long it will remain available, make sure to view it in its entirety before it goes away. The viewing requirements are relatively modest and the required plugins are available via links within the program.
