American Society of Echocardiography (ASE)

The ASE site has a monthly echo case along with archives. The graphics are a bit on the rough side (very low bandwidth video loops), but they do get the point across and hey, these guys are the experts! Highly recommended.

E-chocardiography Journal

This is an on-line echo journal hosted by the Echo lab at the Robert Woods Johnson Medical School. It appears to be a labor of love on a shoe-string budget by its director, Dr. Shindler (this guy is my hero). No flashy graphic layouts here, but it has much more meat than the ASE site. It also has good links. There are images, text, references, practice guidelines, etc. Check it out and be prepared to spend a lot of time.

ACUSON Imaging Gallery and Case of the Month

Acuson makes superb ultrasound equipment. The new generation digital systems (top end Sequoia and the slightly lower end Aspen) are selling very briskly because the images are spectacular. The Acuson website has been greatly enhanced with their cardiology "Imaging Gallery" (just click on one to get an expanded image) and the mostly cardiology based "Case of the Month". Although these are all "static" images (no video), in ultrasound the old adage "a picture is worth a thousand words" still rings true. Highly recommended and easy on your computer too!

GASNet Echocardiography Manual

This is an "underconstruction" site hosted by the anesthesia powerhouse GASNet. It is actually based on a series of videotapes put together by Dr. Terry Rafferty at Yale. The site has nice graphics and some excellent technical information but lots of rough edges and missing pictures, etc. Worth a try.
